Bio: Born circa 1881, Albus Dumbledore was considered by many to be the greatest headmaster Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry had ever seen. He himself had attended Hogwarts from 1892 to 1899, and had excelled in Charms and Transfiguration, earning himself many awards during his time in school. He'd even become prefect in his fifth year, and been made Head Boy in his seventh year. His early life, however, had been plagued with tragedy. When he was about ten, his younger sister Ariana, then six years old, had been attacked by some Muggle boys, leaving her psychologically scarred and unable to control her magic. Their father Percival had later retaliated, attacking the boys and landing himself in Azkaban. Then, about eight years later, just as Albus had graduated from Hogwarts, Ariana had lost control of her magic and had accidentally killed their mother Kendra, leaving Albus to be his sister's primary caregiver, a role which he had secretly resented. So, when Gellert Grindelwald had come to Godric's Hollow to visit his aunt Bathilda Bagshot while researching the Deathly Hallows, Albus and Grindelwald had struck up an immediate friendship (and romance), and had made plans to conquer the Wizarding World, establishing a new order in which witches and wizards no longer had to hide their magic from Muggles. However, his brother Aberforth had confronted the pair, angry that Albus had been neglecting Ariana, resulting in a three-way duel that had accidentally taken Ariana's life. Grindelwald had then fled, leaving Albus and his brother to pick up the pieces. Sometime afterwards, Albus had taken a teaching position at Hogwarts, teaching first Defense Against the Dark Arts and later Transfiguration. During his time as Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Grindelwald had risen to power, igniting a war within the Wizarding community. Unfortunately, Albus had been unable to move against Grindelwald directly, as the two had made a blood pact in their youth when they'd still been friends. With help from Newt Scamander, though, Albus had dissolved the pact, making it possible for him to defeat Gellert Grindelwald in 1945. With Grindelwald's defeat, Albus had become the new wielder of the Elder Wand, the only Deathly Hallows Grindelwald had managed to discover. Then, sometime in the 1960s or early 1970s, Albus had been promoted to headmaster of Hogwarts. Shortly thereafter, he'd formed the Order of the Phoenix, an organization meant to oppose the rise of yet another dark Wizard, Lord Voldemort. In 1980, after about a decade of fighting Voldemort and his Death Eaters, Albus had learned via prophecy of a child who could one day defeat the Dark Lord. The child had turned out to be Harry Potter, son of Order members James and Lily Potter.
According to Dumbledore's chocolate frog card, he is known for not only defeating Grindelwald but for discovering various uses for dragon's blood and for partnering with Nicolas Flamel in the field of alchemy.
